British Pie Week

British Pie Week

If you need me this week I’ll be at the supermarket stocking up on puff pastry and pie filling.

It’s British Pie Week!

I prefer pies just with a lid which, granted, I know is pretty much just a casserole with a pastry hat on.  But in fairness, you get more filling that way.

And while I’ve made pastry in the past, shop bought pastry is an excellent alternative.  So save yourself time, stick the casserole in the slow cooker, buy some ready made pastry, ready-rolled even better, and get out your mini cookie cutters to personalise your pie to suit the moment.

There have been pies for all sorts of occasions over the last year:

During a stormy day…

To welcome The Husband back from his work trip…

To celebrate longer days and clocks springing forward…

To celebrate the end of season for the Vets Football League and a trophy win…

Father’s Day…

A sprained ankle from netball (over Halloween)…

New Year’s Day…

I don’t think I’ve met anyone who doesn’t enjoy a pie (and I don’t think I want to). Get creative with your pastry this British Pie Week.
